Kenzi Kostel, M.S., NCC, LPC-Associate, is a native of Northwest Arkansas, graduated from Texas Christian University as a Summa Cum Laude honors laureate, receiving a B.S. in Psychology. She then completed her M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a child & adolescent concentration at Southern Methodist University.

During her time as an undergraduate student, Kenzi’s passion for mental health flourished. In addition to serving on the student government’s elected cabinet, she directed a leadership organization and worked as a research assistant in the psychology department. Through these positions, Kenzi gained valuable experience understanding mental health from a holistic lens, lobbying and advocating on national and state levels, and enacting mental health resources on campus.

While pursuing her graduate degree, Kenzi worked for Carson Consulting, a consulting firm specializing in executive and corporate assessments. There she gained experience conducting various forms of assessments, psychometric testing, and immersive interviews.

Kenzi began her clinical sequence at the SMU Center for Family Counseling where she worked with children, adolescents, families, and young adults. There she gained experience conducting various therapy modalities including play, activity, talk, family, and sand-tray.

Kenzi completed her clinical internship at Children’s Health Hospital in the Day Treatment Unit. During her internship, she primarily worked with high-acuity children, adolescents, and parents conducting individual, group, and milieu therapy. Kenzi has worked with a wide range of pathology including anxiety, depression, trauma, self-harm, suicidal ideation, self-worth, identity exploration, family and life transitions, ADHD, and OCD.

Kenzi seeks to offer her clients a welcoming and non-judgemental space to explore feelings, build positive self-regard, learn coping skills, find connections, heal and grow, and discover themselves.

In her free time, Kenzi enjoys spending time with her family and exploring the city in addition to hiking, reading, and baking.
