Samuel Weber

After many years as a medical and environmental researcher, Sam returned to his original passion for studies in psychology and completed a Master of Science in counseling from Texas A&M University at Commerce. Sam completed his clinical practicum and internships at Eastfield College where he was exposed to wide variety of multicultural populations. His counseling experience ranges from children, adolescent, and adult populations both in an individual and group dynamic.

His previous work in a community psychiatric hospital has provided him with a broad range of personal experience with human cognitive and behavioral issues across all age groups; from child and adolescent to adult and senior populations. Sam has focuses in anxiety, social anxiety, relationship formation difficulties, depression, life transitional difficulties, self-concept issues, adjustment disorder, dissociative personality tendencies, emotional impasse, parenting of multiples issues, parenting and ADD/ADHD, traumatic life experiences, and mind-body connectedness.

Sam is in his second year in the doctorate program at Texas A&M Commerce where he continues to learn about human behavior and the impact effective research has on human awareness and emotional impasse. He is chiefly integrative in his theoretical approach that has influences from Jungian (Analytical), Gestalt, Adlerian, and many aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Additionally, he is obtaining certification to become a Certified Humanistic Sandtray Therapist.

Sam believes that regardless of theoretical orientation, the power of therapy originates and resides within the dynamic of the therapeutic relationship as evidenced-based research continues to indicate. He believes that therapeutic relationships are unique with each individual and that it brings an emotional depth vital to the healing dynamic.

Teaching has long been one of Sam’s interests and activities. He has worked as a Supplemental Instructor and tutor at the University Of Texas at Arlington, Adjunct Faculty at Eastfield College’s Gateway to College Program, and Biology/Chemistry/Physics Tutor for high school, college, and graduate student populations.

Sam is married and a father of five. He enjoys fishing, biking, bocce, and paddle boarding.
