Rebecca Million, M.A., NCC, LPC-Associate, attended the University of Texas at Austin where she graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education with a choral emphasis. During her time in education, the relationships she formed with students, their families, colleagues, and mentors ignited a new passion within her, the profound impact of interpersonal connections. This revelation steered Rebecca towards obtaining a graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Texas State University.

Rebecca’s background as a musician and educator has taught her many things that inform her work as a therapist. She believes in the power of collaboration and big-picture thinking in understanding each client’s unique narrative within the larger tapestry of their life. She finds joy in creating spaces that foster creative exploration of the challenges that lead individuals to seek support. Music taught her the art of listening- not just to words, but to the unspoken emotions and stories beneath them. This skill is invaluable in the therapeutic relationships that Rebecca forms. In addition to enjoying traditional talk therapy with people of all ages, she also specializes in working with children in play therapy. Similar to music, play therapy is centered around communicating thoughts and feelings not solely with words, but through play: the natural and intuitive language of children.

Rebecca’s clinical work is informed by interpersonal neurobiology, psychodynamic approaches, and humanistic modalities. She has experience providing trauma-informed care across the lifespan through individual counseling, family counseling, and groups. Rebecca has worked with a variety of mental health concerns and life issues such as trauma, attachment ruptures, grief, anxiety, depression, and other life challenges.

In her personal life, Rebecca enjoys spending time with friends and family, cooking, doing yoga, listening to music, and hiking the trails with her husband and dog.

“A person is a fluid process, not a fixed and static entity; a flowing river of change, not a block of solid material; a continually changing constellation of potentialities, not a fixed quantity of traits.” -Carl Rogers

“There’s much more in any given moment than we usually perceive, and that we ourselves are much more than we usually perceive. When you know that, part of you can stand outside the drama of your life.” -Ram Dass
